We are all so proud of everyone in school for their hard work and behaviour. Our Lunchtime chart is looking very green each week and we have even managed a full week with every class having green smiley faces. WOW! Keep it up everyone.
We had our Ofsted visit in October and the report shows how impressed they were of our school. It was particularly noted how we all work together, which is good seeing as it’s our motto! They liked the fact that our School Council, Munch Bunch and Eco groups really help us to make decisions about the school and how the Governors know all about what we do and why.
Our Science day this week was so well attended, so thank you to all the parents who came along and joined in the activities. We all had a fun afternoon. Did any of you see the space food and try it?
Our Friday Award assemblies continue to take place at 9am each Friday. Parents again you are very welcome to come in and join us. The children get certificates for their hard work
Thank you again for all your support. It’s lovely to see so many of you coming into school regularly.
Monkeys have worked hard at learning and following our routines at playgroup and play really nicely with their new friends. Everyone is happy to say goodbye to their special grown-up and we even have tears sometimes, when it is time to leave to go home!
This half term, we are finding out more about ourselves and our five senses - taking part in lots of activities where we have to look, listen, taste, smell and touch. We have had lots of fun using mirrors and colour paddles and making our own shakers to explore making loud and quiet sounds. We are also exploring lots of different materials such as scented playdough, shaving foam and clay and looking forward to using torches and baking some delicious buns. Some of the children have shown an interest in using our play tools to pretend to 'fix' their friends so we are having a Hospital in our role play area which should be well used - look out at home, we're sure our little doctors and nurses will want to practice their skills on you too!
And finally, we are hoping for a visit from a special person in December. Miss Roberts and Mrs Fozia think he will definitely come because we are doing so well!
The Elephants and Rabbits have had a very busy term. We have explored lots of different creative activities and have been using paints to create different effects, such as firework pictures and ball rolling! In Literacy we have been listening to different sounds in the environment. We have also been singing the Jolly phonics songs and learning our sounds. We will soon be learning Christmas songs and doing lots of Christmas activities, and we may even have a special guest

This terms looks as though it is going to be an exciting one. We are learning all about space we have been making moon buggies playing with aliens in space jelly and even trying astronaut food, some of us thought it was delicious although some of the teachers pulled some very funny faces eating it. We will soon begin practising for the Nativity and our teacher have been discussing the roles and we cannot wait to find out what we are going to be.
Miss Asquith said she is very impressed with our work that we are producing and cannot believe how good our writing is becoming. She hopes we keep it up because we are super stars.
We have been learning lots and raising money for different charities such as the Royal British Legions, British Heart Foundation and Children in Need. Raising money for charity is very important to us.
This term we have been looking at poetry, we have practiced reading, reciting and rehearsing our poems. We have enjoyed writing our own poems for Halloween and bonfire night. We have explored different types of poems such as acrostic and shape poems. In our Artis sessions we have been creating our own weather and season poems. We have made music and thought of rhyming words for our class poem. In math's we have been writing our own number sentences by using the bar model and the part-whole model. This has been interesting and challenging for us all. We look forward to our art session we have learnt many new skills and loved creating our clay diva pots for Diwali. We have been for a walk around our local area and then used this information to create a flow chart and write a recount of our walk. We have enjoyed all the activities and new learning so far and look forward to the rest of the term!
